In short

On 5 Nov 2026 the S$ options we track show figures from 1.3% to 3.5% a year, but they’re not the same kind of number and their dates differ. What each rate means.

A money market fund and a cash account aren’t deposits. Your money is usually in funds, the rate can change, and SDIC deposit insurance doesn’t apply. The table starts with the fastest money.

What each rate means

Providers don’t quote the same thing. A projection, a past result and a rate someone chooses can sit in one table and look alike, so each row above says which it is and how old it is. Some pages show a date months back: check the date before comparing.

What a money market fund is, and what a cash account is

MAS describes money market funds as “specialised unit trusts” that invest “primarily in high-quality, liquid and short-dated money market instruments and debt securities” (MAS, 1999). You own units in a fund, and their price can move.

“Cash management account” is a provider’s name, not a type of product. Behind it can be one fund, a mix of funds, an insurance policy or fixed deposits, and the higher-rate versions can hold short-dated bond funds as well. The next table shows which.

What’s inside each one

Several accounts hold the same funds, so a rate gap can come down to the mix, the fees or the date on the figure.

The figures in our table are after fees where the provider says so. Fees still matter when a provider changes its rate or when you compare the funds directly.

Are money market funds safe?

Providers call them low risk, but they aren’t deposits. SDIC insures bank deposits up to S$100,000, and MariBank’s own notice says “other investment products are not insured”. Tiger says the risks include “capital loss and delays in redemption”. Here is what each provider says about its own.

AccountWhat the provider says
Mari Invest SavePlus“Returns may vary and are not guaranteed”; not insured by SDIC
Tiger VaultRisks include “capital loss and delays in redemption”
Syfe Cash+ FlexiCapital guaranteed: no. Syfe lists a maximum drawdown of -0.5%
Chocolate FinanceChocolate says it can’t “guarantee returns”
Endowus Cash Smart Secure“Not a bank deposit and not capital guaranteed”
Endowus Cash Smart Enhanced“Not a bank deposit and not capital guaranteed”
Endowus Cash Smart Ultra“Not a bank deposit and not capital guaranteed”
StashAway SimpleThe rate is a projection; the money is in two funds
Syfe Cash+ EnhancedCapital guaranteed: no. Syfe lists a maximum drawdown of -4.9%
moomoo Cash PlusClient assets kept apart from moomoo’s; the funds carry their own risk
Singlife AccountSays “Capital Guaranteed”; covered by the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme
Syfe Cash+ Guaranteed, 12 monthsRate fixed for the term; Syfe says “SDIC coverage doesn’t apply”

A drawdown is a fall from a high. Syfe’s figure isn’t a limit on a future fall.

Questions people ask

Which money market fund is best in Singapore?

We don’t name one. It depends on how soon you need the money, how much you have and how much of a dip you can sit through. Use the table to set your amount and how fast you need it back, then read the label on each rate.

What’s in a money market fund?

Short-dated, high-quality holdings. MAS says money market instruments and debt securities; Tiger says instruments such as government bills and fixed bank deposits. What’s inside each one lists the funds.

Can you lose money in a money market fund?

Yes, it’s possible. Endowus says its portfolios can involve “the possible loss of the principal amount invested”, and Tiger says the same of the funds it offers. Syfe lists a maximum drawdown of -0.5% on Flexi and -4.9% on Enhanced.

Are money market funds covered by SDIC?

No. They’re investment products, not deposits. The Singlife Account is an insurance policy, and Singlife says it’s covered by the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme, which SDIC runs. That’s a different scheme.

Is a cash management account better than a fixed deposit?

They do different jobs. A fixed deposit locks the rate and is insured up to S$100,000, but you wait until the end of the term. A cash account lets you leave at any time, and its rate can change. The table shows both on your amount, and our fixed deposit tracker has every bank.

Which accounts hold the Fullerton SGD Cash Fund?

Endowus Cash Smart Secure holds 50%, Enhanced 20% and Ultra 15%. Tiger lists funds by Fullerton, and moomoo names the Fullerton SGD Money Market Fund. Fullerton publishes each fund’s prices on its own site. We don’t show a yield for individual funds.

Why does the same fund give different rates on different apps?

Fees, the mix and the date. StashAway and Endowus both use LionGlobal SGD Enhanced Liquidity, but in different shares, with different fees, and their figures carry different dates.

Can I use SRS money?

StashAway and Endowus both describe SRS withdrawals from these accounts, taking about 3 to 5 working days. Check with the provider, as it won’t apply to every option here. Where to put your cash shows what CPF and SRS money can buy.

How we get these numbers

Twice a day a script opens Syfe’s, StashAway’s and Endowus’s own pages and reads the rates they state. A read that is missing or moves by more than 0.75 points is held for a person to check, and the last good figure stays up. Chocolate’s figures come from our Chocolate Finance page.

MariBank, Tiger, moomoo and Singlife are read by a person, last on 5 Nov 2026, and booked for a re-check on our update schedule. Their pages or terms don’t suit a script.

The earnings are the amount times the rate for a year, with no compounding, as if the rate didn’t change. Chocolate uses the same sum as our Chocolate page. Singlife uses its steps. We don’t calculate yields from fund prices. Past rates come from Internet Archive copies of each page, each linked.

We don’t list every platform. Longbridge isn’t here yet because its figures sit in PDF documents.

Disclosure: the editor, Jeremiah Say, holds accounts with MariBank, moomoo and Singlife, as an ordinary customer, and none with the other providers listed here. None of these providers has paid Numbers.sg, there are no referral or affiliate links on this page, and none had a say over what we wrote.

Rates and terms are each provider’s own published figures and words, read from the pages linked above. T-bill and Savings Bond data contain information from the Monetary Authority of Singapore website, made available under the terms of the MAS Terms of Use of Datasets.
