Fixed deposit rates in Singapore today, bank by bank

Every bank’s and finance company’s fixed deposit rates, read from their own pages twice a day: the deals that fit your amount, what each one needs, and the rate it renews at.

Read from 15 banks’ and finance companies’ own pages at 3:40 pm, 24 Oct 2026 SGT; 2 more we check by hand. We read them every day at 9:35 am and 3:35 pm.

On S$50,000 for 12 months: $1,050 at CIMB (2.10%), against $25 if it sits at DBS’s board rate of 0.05%, the rate a deposit there renews at. Your own amount

The deals for your amount

The highest headline rate is rarely the one you can get. Most promotions need a minimum amount, fresh funds or the bank’s app, and some are only for priority clients or new customers. Put in your amount and term, untick what you can’t do, and you see the deals that fit, highest first, with the interest you’d get at the end.

Fixed deposit, T-bill or Savings Bond?

All three are safe places for Singapore dollars, and all three pay interest you don’t pay tax on. They differ in how long your money is tied up and what happens if you need it back early.

Interest from all three is not taxed for individuals in Singapore. A fixed deposit is the only one where the rate depends on the bank, the amount and the deal, which is why it pays to compare.

Spread it out: a fixed deposit ladder

A ladder splits your money across terms that end at different times, so part of it comes back every few months instead of all of it being locked up for a year. Put in a total and see where each part would earn the most today.

S$20,000 in each rung, at the highest rate for fresh funds placed online with no tier. Average rate 1.94%; $998 in interest by the time each ends. As each rung ends, place it again for 12 months, and from then on one ends every 3 months: cash comes back often, while most of it earns the longer rate. Not advice.

Is my money safe?

Your deposit is insured up to S$100,000 per bank

If a bank or finance company in the Deposit Insurance Scheme fails, the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC) pays back up to S$100,000 of your Singapore-dollar deposits with it: fixed deposits and savings added together. All 17 banks and finance companies on this page are members. DBS and POSB are one member (DBS Bank), so S$100,000 covers both together.

Above S$100,000, spreading money across members keeps all of it insured. CPF Investment Scheme and Retirement Sum Scheme money with a bank is insured separately, up to another S$100,000.

From SDIC and its list of members, checked 24 Oct 2026. Foreign-currency deposits are not insured.

Fixed deposit rates since 1983

MAS published the average rates of Singapore’s leading banks every month from 1983 until June 2021. The average 12-month deposit paid about 7% in 1983 and 1984 and about 6% in 1990; from 2003 to 2021 it stayed under 1%, falling to 0.24% in 2021.

Questions people ask

What is the highest fixed deposit rate in Singapore today?

On 24 Oct 2026 the highest 12-month fixed deposit rate in Singapore that needs no banking tier was 2.10% at CIMB (online · S$10,000+). For 6 months it was 2.10% at Maybank. We read the banks’ own pages twice a day.

Is fixed deposit interest taxed?

No. Interest that individuals earn on deposits with banks and licensed finance companies in Singapore is not taxed, and you don’t need to declare it.

What happens if I withdraw early?

Each bank sets its own terms. Many pay little or no interest if you take the money out before the end, and some charge a fee; a few promotions say “no interest if withdrawn early” outright. If you may need the money, a shorter term, a ladder or a Savings Bond (which you can cash out in any month without losing interest) keeps it within reach.

What happens when my fixed deposit ends?

Unless you tell the bank otherwise, most fixed deposits renew for the same term at the bank’s board rate on that day, which is often far below the promotion you placed at. The board rate column above shows each bank’s. Set a reminder a few days before the end date to move it, or to tell the bank to pay it out.

What are fresh funds?

Money that is new to the bank, compared with your balance there on a date the bank sets. Moving money from your savings account at the same bank usually does not count. Each bank defines it in its promotion terms.

Why does DBS show 1.00% for small amounts but 0.05% for larger ones?

Those are DBS’s and POSB’s board rates, and they set the rate by your total Singapore-dollar fixed deposits with them, not each placement. Smaller totals get the higher board rate; S$20,000 and above get 0.05% a year. DBS also takes new placements only for terms of 12 months or less.

Are finance companies safe?

Hong Leong Finance, Singapura Finance and Sing Investments & Finance are licensed by MAS and are members of the same Deposit Insurance Scheme as the banks, so the same S$100,000 cover applies.

Can I use CPF or SRS money?

Money in the CPF Investment Scheme or the Supplementary Retirement Scheme can go into fixed deposits at some banks, at their own rates. The rates on this page are for cash.

How we get these numbers

Twice a day, at 9:35 am and 3:35 pm, a script on our own server opens each bank’s and finance company’s fixed deposit page, the same page you would see, and reads every rate, term, amount band and condition on it. 15 of 17 pages read cleanly on the last run.

A read is held instead of published if anything looks off: the page’s layout changed, a rate moved more than 0.5 points at once, a deal vanished, or the page did not load. The last good rates then stay up, marked “being checked”, until we have looked at the bank’s page ourselves. A bank still held after 14 days moves to “check by hand”.

RHB and Sing Investments & Finance block automatic reads, so we link to their pages instead of guessing. Maybank’s Deposits Bundle, which needs a savings account placement alongside, is not included; its iSAVvy online and board rates are.

We rank by the rate the bank publishes (or its stated effective rate, where a bonus is paid at the end), and show the conditions next to every rate. No bank pays to be listed, and the order is never changed by hand.

  • Interest is worked out as banks pay it on fixed deposits: simple interest on the amount, for the months of the term, paid at the end.
  • This page shows numbers, not advice on where to put your money. See our disclaimer, how we get our numbers and corrections.
