MOM’s Occupational Wage Survey, June 2024. Monthly wages before CPF, with allowances and overtime but no bonus, in private firms with 25 or more staff. Government teachers, public hospital staff and other public officers aren’t in it. A wage at a round figure such as S$20,000 is what the survey reports.

Men, women and pay over a career

Women under 30 earn more than men: S$4,333 against S$4,008 at 25 to 29. By 35 to 39 that has turned round, to S$6,771 against S$5,833. Across all ages, with employer CPF, men’s median is S$6,000 and women’s S$5,460.

MOM’s medians for full-time citizens and PRs, June 2025, without employer CPF.

Pay climbs fast early on. Men aged 25 to 29 had a median of S$3,088 in 2015, while men aged 35 to 39 had S$6,771 in 2025. For women the same two figures are S$3,250 and S$5,833. These are groups at two dates, not the same people followed through time.

The median rose from S$3,949 in 2015 to S$5,775 in 2025, up 46%. After inflation on SingStat’s all-items index, the rise is about 23%. Download the CSV: the median each year and every job’s wages.

The next median

We put the June 2026 median at about S$5,970. MOM’s mean rose 3.4% from 2Q 2025 to 2Q 2026, so we raise last June’s median by the same share. MOM’s last advance figure came out on 28 Nov 2025. We’ll show its new figure beside ours when it’s out.

Pay and work in Singapore

Questions people ask

What is the average salary in Singapore?

The mean is S$6,605 a month (2Q 2026) and the median S$5,775 (June 2025), both counting employer CPF. The median suits most people, as half earn more and half less. Before employer CPF, it’s S$5,000.

What’s the difference between mean and median?

The mean adds up everyone’s pay and divides by the number of people. The median is the person in the middle. MOM itself warns that the mean can be skewed upwards by a small number of very high earners.

Is my salary good?

That depends on your age, costs and household, so we can only show where it ranks. S$5,000 a month puts you ahead of about 49% of full-time workers, S$8,000 about 72% and S$10,000 about 81%. Try your own pay by age and job.

What salary is the top 10% or top 1%?

About S$13,800 a month for the top 10% of full-time workers and about S$19,650 for the top 5%, before employer CPF. MOM’s bands stop at S$22,500, so we can’t give a pay line for the top 1%.

What’s the median salary at 30?

The middle of workers aged 25 to 29 earns about S$4,250 a month, at 30 to 34 about S$5,350 and at 35 to 39 about S$6,100, before employer CPF. These estimates include part-timers. See every age.

Which jobs pay the most?

By middle wage in MOM’s survey of 562 private-sector jobs, the five highest are:

  • Flying instructor (except air force): S$20,000
  • Foreign exchange broker: S$19,750
  • In-house legal counsel (except judiciary, ministries and statutory boards): S$17,972
  • Commodities trader (excluding oil and bunker): S$16,000
  • Chief information officer/chief technology officer/chief security officer: S$15,258
Do these figures include bonus?

MOM’s medians and bands include one-twelfth of annual bonuses. Its quarterly mean and its job wages don’t. The table above shows what each figure counts.

Are foreigners counted?

No. MOM’s medians, bands and mean cover citizens and PRs, so someone on an Employment Pass is being compared with residents, not with other foreign workers. The job wages are for residents too.

Why do I see different salary figures?

Mostly because they count different things. S$5,775 and S$5,000 are the same median, with and without employer CPF. The S$6,605 mean takes in part-timers and very high earners, but no bonus. On any salary figure, check the year, whether employer CPF is in it, and who is counted.

Is my pay kept?

No. The tool runs in your browser and sends nothing to us. A copied link holds your figures after the # sign, which browsers don’t send to websites.

The checks

Our ranks are estimates, so the page tests them against MOM’s published medians every time it loads.

How we work this out

MOM publishes how many people fall in each income band. We assume pay is spread evenly within a band, then work out the share below your pay. When we hid a band’s split in past data and estimated it, the typical miss was under 1 point and the largest about 4, on bands twice as wide as the real ones.

  • Full-time rank: from MOM’s bands for full-time citizens and PRs, up to S$22,500. Above that line, we show only the top group you’re in.
  • Age, qualification, industry and type of work: from MOM’s open bands, which count part-timers too and stop at S$12,000.
  • Job: MOM’s own quartiles, with no estimate of ours.
  • After inflation: our sum on SingStat’s all-items CPI, so it can differ a little from MOM’s real figures.
  • This page shows numbers, not advice. See our disclaimer, how we get our numbers and corrections.

Contains information from MOM’s datasets on data.gov.sg (median pay, pay by age, by type of work, by industry, by qualification, by job) accessed on 6 Nov 2026 under the terms of the Singapore Open Data Licence version 1.0.
